How-to: Start Live Broadcasting With Mixlr
Welcome to our easy-to-follow guide to live broadcasting with Mixlr. This tutorial shows you how to put your sounds live on the web using our desktop application.

1 Install Mixlr's broadcasting application |

Download our broadcasting application. Click on Save File. When it's finished downloading, open the file. If you're not using Firefox browser, this process may be slightly different. If you have problems then contact us for advice. |

Using the Setup wizard, install Mixlr on your PC. You can use the default settings and just click Next at every screen. |

When Mixlr has installed successfully, you should see a screen like this. Make sure Launch Mixlr is checked, and hit Finish. |

2 Setting up your live broadcast |
|
|
Before you start to broadcast, you need to sign into the app. Enter your Mixlr username and password and hit Sign in. If you don't have a Mixlr account yet, just sign up /join |

Click on Broadcast now.... Below, you can also see how much broadcast time you have remaining. You can top up in our shop. |
|
|
Now, check that you have an audio signal: you should see the level meters (highlighted right) moving up and down. |
|
|
If you don't see the levels moving, click on the cog icon to edit your audio settings. Select an input device which has a signal. If you don't see a signal, make sure you've connected an audio input to your soundcard or computer's line-in port. When you're done, click on Save audio settings. You can also select an output channel, for optionally monitoring the audio which you are broadcasting. |

When you've got an input, enter a short title. Also, enter test as a tag. Using this tag allows you to experiment without cluttering up your profile page. |

3 Broadcast live |

When you're ready, hit Broadcast. |
|
|
Now, you're broadcasting live on Mixlr! You can share your broadcast with others using your live URL. You can just click Copy link to copy your live URL to the clipboard. Then, paste it into Facebook, Twitter or any other web-page to share it with your |

You can test that you're broadcasting by visiting your live URL yourself. You'll see that it's easy for anybody to leave comments, and to share your broadcast with others on Facebook and Twitter. |

4 Saving your broadcast |
|
|
When you're ready to stop broadcasting, hit Stop and save. After you've confirmed, your broadcast will stop. After a minute or two, you'll receive an email containing a link to your saved broadcast. |

Sit back and listen to your recorded broadcast: no video, no fuss, just professional, high-quality audio. |
